Planet Fitness – A great deal.

There’s a popular health club franchise called Planet Fitness. I joined when they first opened in a nearby mall. The price was $10.00 per month and I didn’t have to sign a contract. I could quit any time without penalty. What a great deal!

At first, I used the gym often. Some people might have said I was a faithful gym member. Others told me that I worked out, “religiously.” What they meant is that I was consistent and worked out on schedule whether I felt like it or not. At only $10.00, I felt I was getting a really great deal. I didn’t mind spending the ten bucks at all while I was using the gym consistently. Then my resolve started to slip.

Before I knew it, a few months had gone by and I hadn’t used the gym. In the back of my mind I figured I ought to go workout, or cancel my membership. Then, a few more months went by, and I think I used the gym only two or three more times. I then decided I should get serious and use that membership for all it is worth. It really was a great deal.

Planet Witness – Another great deal, in the spiritual realm.

I have a great new plan for missions giving. If you are giving nothing to missions, why not start off at the low price of $10 per month?  For one low price you could help a missionary reach more people with the gospel. What if all the believers that are not currently giving to missions would begin investing in missions through their local church at only $10 per month? I’ll tell you what would happen:

—Pastors would see the mission budget skyrocket
—More missionaries would be supported
—The gospel would be preached to more people
—News of people trusting Christ would be proclaimed from the pulpit
—The pastor would be encouraged
—The congregation would be energized
—Revival would break out in the churches
—Backslidden Christians would come to church to see what’s going on
—Young people would be engaged in the services
—More folks would be called as missionaries
—The happy cycle would just continue until Jesus returned

Don’t cancel your gym membership, use it for all it’s worth! And, while you are getting in great physical shape, remember to invest in heaven, too.
