Plain questions. Would you disagree with my answers?
- Is hell real? Yes.
- Is sin the disease? Yes.
- Is Jesus the only cure? Yes.
- Who should get treatment first? Those who have never, ever had access to the cure.
Gospel triage: Move past the ones who don’t need treatment. Get to those who most need the cure!
Move past those who have been treated. They are completely out of danger.
Those who believe the gospel are in absolutely no danger of spending eternity in hell. They have trusted Christ and are cured from the curse of sin.
Those of us who have been treated by the Great Physician are now responsible for dispensing the cure to others.
Those who have refused treatment. If the treatment has been refused, especially after multiple attempts, it is time to move on to the next wounded in line.
Do we, as the church, spend too much time, money, attention and resources on those who have repeatedly refused treatment at the expense of those who have never heard? Do you believe this quote below is valid?
“No one has the right to hear the gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heard it once.” ―Oswald J. Smith
Those who have never, ever been offered treatment. These need to be treated first.
Are we as the church identifying correctly those who most urgently need God’s cure? Are we spending too much time (and money) living the American dream, when there are wounded in the world around us?
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” ―Isaiah 6:8
This is great. It is to the point and visual. God is using you in a great way. I will share. Hope God continues to use you in a great way and continues to expand your borders!!
Thanks, Danny, for your kind words. You are always a great encouragement to me!
